Fresh Food. Stronger Communities. Lasting Impact.

For 15 years, we’ve been growing fresh, sustainable produce while empowering families through hands-on education and life skills. Heritage Farm is more than a place to grow food – it’s a place to grow together.

In 2011, MSHN transformed 4 acres of land into Heritage Farm, a thriving source of vegetables, fruits, flowers and education. Utilizing high tunnels, a greenhouse, seasonal staff, volunteers and interns, Heritage Farm extends our growing season and serves children, families & individuals in Philadelphia and beyond.

Heritage Farm produces supports for MSHN programs, while also reaching local communities. Every seed we plant demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, nourishment and community development.

Fresh. Healthy. Sustainable.

From crisp salad greens and juicy tomatoes to herbs, root vegetables, berries, melons and vibrant wildflowers, Heritage Farm offers a wide array of seasonal produce. Grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, Heritage Farm harvests reflect our dedication to natural methods that care for the earth and those who enjoy its bounty.

More than Food

Heritage Farm is also an exciting outdoor classroom. Through hands-on workshops in food prep, nutrition and sustainable farming, families gain the knowledge and skills to become more self-reliant and embrace healthy lifestyles. Participants, young and old, are invited to experience the full cycle of farming, planting, tending, harvesting and tasting.

The Farm Team

Heritage farm provides fresh produce and works closely with MSHN’ students, campers and residents.

I’m a Philly local who began farming in 2013. It has been a vessel for learning and understanding that has taken me from Connecticut to Colorado and places in between. From 2017 to 2019 I found myself working as an assistant at Heritage Farm and feel fortunate to return now as Farm Manager. I hope to use what I’ve gathered along the way to connect and learn from the community, here, through growing food.
